The company operates multiple retail locations, a feed mill and remains committed to delivering exceptional value and service.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nGENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB\r\n\r\nManage the daily manufacturing operations at the Feed Mill, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production of both bagged and bulk feeds. This position plays a key leadership role in coordinating people, equipment, and processes to meet production goals while maintaining compliance with company policies, feed safety standards, and regulatory requirements.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\r\n\r\n\r\n\tManage all aspects of feed mill production, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to quality standards\r\n\tConduct training and coaching for production and supervisory staff to ensure safety, efficiency and quality standards\r\n\tDetermine daily production schedules to meet operational and customer requirements.\r\n\tEnsure compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements\r\n\tImplement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize workflow and reduce downtime\r\n\tMonitor plant performance and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce waste\r\n\tServe as a hands-on leader, providing guidance, direction, and support to production personnel\r\n\tMaintain well-trained and properly staffed teams; oversee hiring, training, and performance management\r\n\tFoster communication and collaboration between production, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams\r\n\tConduct regular meetings and evaluations to promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement\r\n\tEnforce Grange Co-op’s feed quality assurance and safety standards\r\n\tEnsure personnel are following testing, documentation, and traceability procedures to ensure regulatory and certification compliance\r\n\tConduct safety audits, lead incident investigations, determine, and implement corrective actions as needed\r\n\tPromote a proactive culture of safety through training, recognition, and accountability\r\n\tCollaborate with the Millwright and Mill Manager to ensure preventive maintenance programs are followed\r\n\tIdentify equipment performance issues and coordinate repairs or capital improvement needs\r\n\tManage ingredients and finished feed inventories to support production schedules\r\n\tOversee receiving, storage, and handling of materials in accordance with safety and quality procedures\r\n\tCoordinate with warehouse and transportation teams to ensure efficient product flow and timely deliveries\r\n\tDemonstrate regular predictable attendance\r\n\tPerform other tasks and duties as requested by supervisor\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\r\n\r\nThis position has supervisory responsibilities over production employees working directly in the Feed Mill\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE \r\n\r\nBachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Animal Science, Agricultural Business, Operations, Engineering or related field with five to seven years of manufacturing experience including three to five years of management and regulatory experience required;
