Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Hawaii Dolphin Animal Expert to join our team at a premier marine wildlife facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with dolphins, contributing to conservation, education, and research efforts. Duties
- Provide expert care and daily husbandry for dolphins, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being.
- Assist with training sessions and behavioral enrichment activities to promote natural behaviors.
- Educate visitors about dolphin biology, conservation efforts, and the importance of marine ecosystems through engaging presentations.
- Monitor dolphin health and behavior, documenting observations for research and veterinary purposes.
- Support the development of conservation programs and participate in community outreach initiatives.
- Maintain clean and safe aquatic environments, including tanks and surrounding areas.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff on medical treatments or health assessments as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with marine mammals, particularly dolphins, either professionally or through internships.
- Strong understanding of marine animal behavior, biology, and husbandry practices.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate visitors and team members.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain relevant certifications is a plus.
