We are hiring a Market Development Agent to help expand our presence within a defined territory in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba. In this role, you’ll work directly with agricultural retailers and growers to build relationships, introduce NCS products, provide insights to our leadership team, and drive commercial success. If you’re passionate about agriculture, strong in relationship-building, and energized by helping producers succeed, this is a great opportunity to grow with an innovative company.
This is an independent contractor role with an initial 3-year term, with the potential for renewal based on performance and business needs.
What You’ll Do
- Execute agreed-upon market development and go-to-market strategies
- Identify and develop customer relationships; secure sales commitments
- Collect accounts receivable and ensure customers pay on agreed terms
- Recommend go-to-market, product, and pricing strategies
- Advise on crop protection product combinations (CP products, adjuvants, safeners, bio-products) suited for the territory
- Analyze micro- and macro-economic trends impacting your region
- Provide insights on product positioning, packaging and product and business differentiation
- Identify and evaluate service providers such as warehousing and transportation
- Collaborate with NCS to design customer offerings that maximize value and margin
- Present commercial opportunities and execute agreed initiatives
- Build strong relationships between customers and NCS internal team members
- Represent NCS at agricultural events such as farm shows (as needed)
- Respond to and resolve Product Inquiries as needed
- Submit a quarterly written report outlining progress, opportunities, and challenges
