Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a friendly, clinically focused team in a well-equipped first-opinion setting. This role suits someone who enjoys managing a varied caseload, taking time over consultations and having the clinical freedom to do what is right for each patient, backed by experienced colleagues and visiting specialists. A flexible rota, with the option of full-time or part-time hours, makes it a great choice if you’re looking for a long-term position that fits with life outside of work.
You’ll be joining a practice where clinical standards and collaboration come first, with access to a strong regional network, advanced practitioners and a telemedicine hub for additional support when needed. There is plenty of scope to develop special interests, shape your surgical and consulting mix, and grow from general practitioner level towards certificate-level expertise within a supportive environment.
Qualifications Needed:
- MRCVS-qualified Small Animal Vet Surgeon with solid general practice experience
- Confidence in everyday soft tissue procedures and typical first-opinion caseload
- Willingness to ask for advice, learn from colleagues and share your own experience with the team
- Positive, adaptable attitude with good communication skills and a client-centred approach
Package:
- Option of a four-day full-time week or tailored part-time schedule depending on your needs
- No out-of-hours, Sunday or bank holiday work, supporting a predictable work-life balance
- Competitive base salary with potential relocation support for candidates moving into the area
- Generous holiday entitlement, with additional long-service days and the option to buy extra leave
- Regular CPD funding, with encouragement to progress from GP level towards certificate study
- Access to a clinical support hub and telemedicine services for help with complex cases
- Contribution towards professional fees and membership costs as part of the overall package
- Health and wellbeing benefits, including cash plan options and access to support services
- Employee discounts on veterinary treatment and products for your own pets
