Responsible for providing medical care, examinations, and treatments for large animals such as cows, camels, goats, and sheep within the clinic and outside when needed. The role includes diagnosing diseases, performing minor procedures, offering health guidance to owners, and ensuring compliance with animal welfare and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Examination & Diagnosis:
- Conduct clinical examinations and diagnose diseases in large animals.
- Request and analyze laboratory tests and imaging when necessary.
- Assess animal health conditions and determine appropriate treatment plans.
2. Treatment & Medical Care:
- Prescribe medications and implement treatment plans.
- Provide emergency care for critical cases.
- Administer vaccinations and preventive treatments.
3. Medical Procedures:
- Perform minor surgeries and simple medical procedures.
- Treat injuries, wounds, and minor fractures.
- Monitor postoperative cases and follow up accordingly.
4. Health Guidance:
- Provide nutrition and general health advice to animal owners.
- Educate clients on disease prevention and proper animal care.
5. Records & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate medical records for animals and track their cases.
- Prepare periodic reports on cases and treatments.
6. Compliance:
- Adhere to approved veterinary procedures and protocols.
- Apply biosecurity and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare guideline
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in treating large animals.
- Clinical experience in veterinary clinics is required.
- Ability to handle emergency cases.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform fieldwork when needed.
