Genetics Tech -Full Time:
Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the Eastern Washington Genetics tech is to support and carry out operations related to the genetics program in the Eastern Washington Facilities. Coordination and planning of such activities will require close communication with the Genetics Lead and R&D team
The Eastern Washington Genetics tech will report to the Genetics Lead
Scope of Work:
Coordinate and carry out genetic program operations at the Eastern Washington facilities including ELM1, ELM2. The primary focus will be on the genetics buildings and pond space occupied by genetics fish.
The responsibilities include recording egg data, tank cleaning, fish feeding, and data collection for various research projects. Additionally, the role involves fish sorting, general maintenance, and some data entry into Excel.
Collaborating in the husbandry and care of genetics program fish from the point of delivery as egg until they are shipped to Western WA as large fish. This includes proper maintenance of facilities and husbandry practices (lighting, feeding regime, transfers, etc.).
Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of genetic buildings and associated facilities to a high standard.
Communication with the genetics lead, farm managers, fish health specialists and others to accomplish these tasks as needed.
Desired Skills:

- Proficiency in office programs (including Email, Teams, Word, and Excel)

Requirements:
· Capable of working in cold water while wearing chest high waders, and other protective gear for extended periods of time, regardless of weather
· Ability to repeatedly lift weights exceeding 50lbs
· Ability to walk narrow and at times slippery walkways elevated over water raceways
Travel: Some overnight travel to other Troutlodge facilities will be required at times. Including Western WA. and confrences if needed
Weekend and Holidays: Weekend and Holiday duties are required on a rotating basis.
Salary/Benefits: Hourly Salary based on experience and qualifications.
