McCorkle Nurseries is hiring a Nursery Manager who is responsible for the implementation and execution of the production plan within the assigned nursery area. The Manager provides leadership and decision-making necessary to effectively contribute to the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Plant Health, Propagation, and Grower teams, including recruiting, hiring, training, supervision, and performance management.
- Oversee daily operations by anticipating team needs, monitoring progress, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring accountability.
- Drive production efficiency by meeting targets, maintaining quality standards, reducing plant loss, and managing budgets.
- Develop and execute production plans, including potting, growing, maintenance, selection, and loading activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory and provide needed information to operations, sales, and other departments.
- Manage employee attendance, timekeeping, performance reviews, and disciplinary documentation.
- Foster a positive, high-performance team culture while maintaining a safe, incident-free workplace through strong communication, daily safety awareness, and consistent policy compliance.
- Oversee facilities, equipment, and production needs while coordinating with management on personnel, policies, procedures, and operational updates.
- Manage departmental budgets and expenses within approved guidelines.
- Serve as the designated successor to the General Manager and step into that role as needed with assigned authority.
- Build and maintain industry and academic relationships to support plant development initiatives.
- Assist in other operational areas as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in nursery manager
- Strong leadership with the ability to inspire and achieve outstanding results
- Above-average knowledge of business management and horticultural practices
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- General computer skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn nursery-specific software
- Ability to visualize problems and develop solutions related to nursery and personnel matters
- Prefer bilingual in English and Spanish
