Position Summary\r\n\r\nThe Junior Accountant will report to the Controller or designate. The Junior Accountant will provide support to the Finance department in maintaining fiscal records and preparing financial reports, including monthly bank reconciliations. The Junior Accountant is directly responsible for accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payment documents such as purchase orders, travel reimbursements, and any other accounting transactions. The Junior Accountant is also responsible for accurate processing of cash receipts and ethanol invoicing. The Junior Accountant will also assist with general accounting functions and provide support for external audits and internal reporting for Management. Ensure appropriate approvals are attained.\r\n\t\tMonitor, forward, and respond where appropriate to AEC’s Accounts Payable email account.\r\n\t\tFacilitate appropriate follow up with appropriate parties to ensure vendor and banking information is accurate.\r\n\t\tEnsure timely response time to AEC’s vendors and suppliers.\r\n\t\tSupport year-end accounting activities.\r\n\t\tEnter AR cash receipts\r\n\t\tPrepare weekly ethanol invoices and all related accounting functions\r\n\t\tPrepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tAssist the Controller with maintaining fiscal records and preparing financial reports\r\n\tComplete monthly reconciliation for all accounts \r\n\tProvide direct administrative and office management support to all members of the AEC team, as directed by verbal or written instruction.\r\n\tProvide daily checks on ethanol bills of lading (BOL).\r\n\tAdminister and manage inbound/outbound mail, including priority post, packages, courier services, and other correspondence.\r\n\tProvide support for tax planning and compliance with Federal, Provincial, and other applicable taxes.\r\n\tMaintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities.\r\n\tHandle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.\r\n\tWork in compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and Legislation.\r\n\tReport all workplace incidents to the Controller or designate.\r\n\tAct as a representative of the company when communicating with customers, contractors, and vendors.\r\n\tDemonstrate effective problem-solving skills and willingness to work as a group toward solutions.\r\n\tDemonstrate ability to effectively understand, listen, verbalize, and write information.\r\n\tPerform other duties as delegated.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHealth & Safety Aspects\r\nThe successful candidate must comply with the health and safety rules defined in AEC’s policies. Candidate must be \r\naware of vehicle traffic, such as forklifts, pay loaders, and tractor-trailers.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nMental and Physical Effort\r\n\r\n\r\n\tThe position requires multitasking while maintaining focus on all steps in the process.
