Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our ophthalmology specialty practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with a passion for providing exceptional veterinary services. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of our animal patients while supporting veterinarians in various clinical tasks.

Duties
As a Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
Performing laboratory tests
Administering medications and and treatments as prescribed
Monitoring anesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures
Providing nursing care to hospitalized animals, including animal catheterization and restraint
Communicating regularly with owners
Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques
Handling animals safely and effectively to minimize stress during visits

Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

RVT license in good standing
Previous veterinary technician experience required. Specialty experienced preferred but not required.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices
Experience with dog and cat handling
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and surgical equipment used in veterinary settings
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members
