Job Description: Our client is seeking a practical and motivated large animal veterinary technician to support a growing rural practice working closely with production animal clients. You will work directly alongside a veterinarian, providing essential technical support while developing your skills in a well-structured and supportive environment. In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting veterinary visits with preparation, assistance, and follow-up tasks
- Handling livestock safely and confidently during routine farm work
- Collecting samples and assisting with diagnostic and monitoring activities
- Preparing, cleaning, and organising clinical and field equipment
- Completing basic records and assisting with day-to-day operational tasks
Qualifications Needed:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a veterinary technician or livestock health role
- Comfort working in outdoor environments and around large animals
- Reliable communicator with a practical, team-focused mindset
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision
- Strong awareness of safety, hygiene, and animal welfare standards
