Veterinary Practice Manager – Urgent Care Focus (No Overnights)

We’re seeking a skilled, proactive, and confident Veterinary Practice Manager to lead the daily operations of a fast-paced urgent care animal clinic. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a strong background in veterinary management who thrives in a dynamic clinical setting and has a passion for leading teams, optimizing systems, and delivering top-tier client and patient experiences.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As the Practice Manager, you’ll be the operational backbone of the clinic — ensuring everything from team coordination to charge capture runs with precision. This role requires someone who can think fast, manage complexity, and foster a calm, solutions-focused environment, especially during high-stress or emotionally charged situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own daily operations and workflow management across front desk, technician, and DVM teams
- Build and maintain weekly staff schedules while managing real-time adjustments and ensuring appropriate coverage
- Monitor and enforce timely and accurate charge capture, ensuring that all services and medications are billed before discharge
- Proactively step in to de-escalate client concerns and ensure client satisfaction while supporting team morale
- Oversee inventory controls, equipment needs, and vendor relationships
- Support onboarding, training, and continued development of staff across all departments
- Partner with the medical team to maintain an efficient, client-friendly, and patient-focused environment
- Maintain and enforce compliance with medical recordkeeping standards, safety protocols, and clinic policies
- Collaborate on goals, KPIs, and improvement initiatives to strengthen clinic performance and staff culture
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior management experience in a veterinary clinic, preferably in urgent care, ER, or specialty medicine
- Confident leadership presence with the ability to lead during busy, high-pressure situations
- Strong knowledge of veterinary operations including medical terminology, workflows, charge auditing, and staff management
- Experience with client conflict resolution and a calm, empathetic approach to client service
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-through skills
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software (Avinmark, ezyVet, or similar)
- Passion for building great teams and fostering a supportive, high-functioning workplace

Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
