We are looking for an Outstation Supervisor to join Carrum Station, which is a breeding property for the composite bull breeding program, located in the Gulf Group, 26 kilometres south of Julia Creek and 278km east of Mt.

About the Opportunity
As Outstation Supervisor, you’ll play a hands-on role in the heart of Queensland’s Gulf Country, overseeing day-to-day station operations and ensuring everything runs smoothly. From managing water and pasture resources to supervising livestock handling and maintaining station infrastructure. This is the perfect role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves working outdoors, and takes pride in delivering high standards.
- Implement and supervise day-to-day station activities according to the work program set by management.
- Ensure continuous water supply to all cattle and yards; maintain and improve water infrastructure.
- Carry out fencing, grading of station roads and fence lines, and implement weed management programs.
- Maintain the homestead, compound, gardens, and surrounding areas to a high standard.
- Manage cattle movements for optimal pasture use and sustainability whilst maintaining accurate grazing and rainfall records.
- Supervise and perform livestock handling and husbandry tasks, including branding, weaning, vaccinations, and drafting.
- Operate and maintain machinery and vehicles; oversee general station maintenance and capital improvements.
- Uphold Workplace Health & Safety standards, report hazards, and maintain first aid supplies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in cattle herd, pasture, and water management.
- Strong practical knowledge of bores, fencing, machinery operation, and general station maintenance.
- Good cattle handling and horse-riding skills.
- Computer literacy, including StockMate and Microsoft Office applications.
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Flexible, proactive, and committed to safety and continuous improvement.
- Previous experience with livestock logistics and breeding programs is advantageous.
