This position will manage and work closely with the herd crew, milking crew, feeders, vendors, veterinarians, nutritionist, and consultants. All operational decisions made by the Dairy Manager will be actively communicated with the owners through regular management meetings.\r\n\r\nDuties May Include:\r\n\r\nEmployee Management:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tHelp prioritize and organize employees work and tasks\r\n\tTrain and assist in development of new and current employees\r\n\r\n\r\nParlor Management\r\n\r\n\r\n\tWork with management team and employees to continue implementing and evolving our SOP's and protocols\r\n\tMonitor milk quality and production daily milk weights, antibiotic dates, SCC, etc.\r\n\r\n\r\nHerd Health Management:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tWork in conjunction with herd crew\r\n\tCollect and record data utilizing Dairy Comp/Delpro\r\n\tWalk pens to observe livestock comfort and to look for signs of illness or distress\r\n\tRecommend culling decisions\r\n\tManage pharmaceutical ordering, usage, and budgeting\r\n\tWork with vets during weekly herd checks\r\n\tCommunicate with breeders on program management as needed\r\n\r\n\r\nYoungstock Management:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tMonitor health and growth of young stock\r\n\tReview and oversee existing vaccination programs\r\n\tManage weaning schedules\r\n\r\n\r\nFeed Management:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tWeekly meetings with the nutritionist\r\n\tUse TMR Tracker to update rations and pen sums as needed\r\n\tOversee feed report data\r\n\r\n\r\nFacility and Grounds Management:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tSanitation oversight of pens and equipment.\r\n\tWork with managers and employees on upkeep and maintenance of facilities\r\n\tReport if repairs are needed\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
