\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nThe incumbent is responsible for supporting the delivery of our people strategy within an assigned client group and acts as an employee champion and change agent. This role assesses and anticipates our people needs and fully integrates themselves into the plant environment by communicating needs proactively with their cross functional teams. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n \r\n\r\nReason for vacancy: Existing Headcount \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tProvide guidance, support and coaching to Managers and frontline Supervisors regarding Human Resources policies, practices and collective bargaining agreement within an assigned client group\r\n\tAct as an expert in dual collective agreement administration in an effort to ensure compliance therein\r\n\tMonitor and communicate with departments to understand labour requirements\r\n\tTrack, record and analyze data as it pertains to manpower requirements, HR metrics, onboarding, grievances etc.\r\n\tProvide direction and support to staff in such areas as workplace policy, employee legislation, staffing, and current and new systems\r\n\tLiaison with Union officials to ensure a harmonious relationship\r\n\tCo-ordinate grievance meetings, lead labour management initiatives and prepare documents for Arbitrations.\r\n\tMaintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance\r\n\tCo-ordinate with corporate pension and benefits on hourly new hires, changes, terminations and employee specific issues\r\n\tWork closely with the leadership team and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.\r\n\tRespond to all employee concerns and take steps to resolve issues\r\n\tFlexibility with their shift schedule, based on the business needs\r\n\tProvide research and support to managers with an active presence on the plant floor\r\n\tRecognize, support and commit to our Food Safety Promise and Leadership Values\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPost Secondary Education with HR training\r\n\tCHRP designation or evidence of working toward designation would be preferred\r\n\tRelated experience in a unionized, manufacturing environment\r\n\tExcellent interpersonal and communication skills\r\n\tAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines\r\n\tProficient in Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)\r\n\tAbility to excel in a fast-paced changing manufacturing environment\r\n\tAbility to take the initiative, analyze and problem solve\r\n\tWork with minimal supervision and be active team member\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\nBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\nAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.\r\nCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
