As a member of our Life Sciences department, the primary objective of this entry-level position will be to cut suitable koala and tree kangaroo fodder from our plantations to sustain our growing koala and tree kangaroo populations. Tasks will include leaf cutting, planting, fertilising, watering, slashing and the general maintenance of our leaf plantations along with assistance in feeding our koala population. Occasional duties will also include general animal husbandry duties.
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
Willingness to work outdoors in a bushland environment and in all weather conditions;
Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills;
Self-motivated, reliable and able to work independently;
Hold a current Apply First Aid qualification;
Hold a current QLD Manual Drivers Licence and ability in 4-wheel drive operation.
Previous experience in a similar environment such as farming, nursery, grounds or basic plantation maintenance and/ or tertiary qualifications in any of the sciences, particularly horticulture would be advantageous. A first aid certificate is also desired. Flexibility with working hours across a 7 day roster is essential, as weekend work and early mornings will be involved
