Coosaw Farms is looking to hire a Farm Manager for their Fairfax, SC location. This position would be responsible for growing and managing watermelons, blueberries, blackberries, and field corn. This position has a high level of upward mobility as the manager grows and learns their role. This person would be over irrigation and fertigation, plant protection, equipment operation and management, along with involvement in planning the production strategy. This position would have a group of experienced employees under them to assist in growing and managing the crops.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily farming operations to ensure efficient, high-quality production and smooth workflow.
- Manage the cultivation of watermelons, blueberries, blackberries, field corn, and any additional crops introduced at the location.
- Monitor crop health and proactively identify and address agronomic issues related to fertility, irrigation, pests, and disease.
- Implement and manage irrigation and fertigation programs to optimize crop performance.
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of experienced employees while fostering a positive, accountable, and motivated work culture.
- Plan and coordinate planting, growing, harvesting, and post-harvest activities to meet production goals.
- Oversee equipment operation, maintenance, and scheduling to ensure safe and efficient use.
- Develop and enforce operational standards, SOPs, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, worker safety, and operational best practices.
- Maintain accurate production records and support reporting and planning efforts.
- Identify operational challenges and implement timely, effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in growing, plant protection, and production
- Knowledge of multiple types of irrigation management (drip and center)
- Experience in managing equipment, operators, and field workers
- Work well in a team with high levels of communication
- Experience in Food Safety Requirements
- Ability to design/implement work schedules and monitor workers
- Excellent record keeping and ability to develop SOP’s
- Preferred: bilingual in English & Spanish
