Beef Cattle Farm Worker – Full Time
Woodlands EGT, located in Hyden, Western Australia, is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Beef Cattle Farm Worker to join our team on a full-time basis. Our property sits near the iconic Wave Rock and is part of a proactive, welcoming rural community known for its strong sporting clubs, social activities, and lively, friendly atmosphere.
Position Overview
This role involves hands-on livestock husbandry, including feeding, mustering, and general farm duties essential to the efficient operation of a beef cattle enterprise.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Feeding, watering, and conducting daily livestock welfare checks;
- Monitoring herd health, identifying illness or injury, and administering basic treatments as directed;
- Completing accurate livestock records and following farm biosecurity procedures;
- Handling, moving, loading and unloading cattle as needed;
- Supporting seasonal tasks including calving, weaning, marking, pregnancy testing, and drafting;
- Assisting with general farm duties and maintenance, such as cleaning, fencing, repairs, rock picking as well as involvement with seeding and harvest operations etc.;
- Operating and maintaining farm machinery, vehicles, and equipment to complete the relevant farming tasks needed (tractors, loaders, spray units, telehandlers, headers, spreader).
Skills & Experience Required
- Have at least one (1) year of previous experience working with beef cattle or in a livestock/farm environment;
- Knowledge of livestock handling, animal husbandry, and low-stress stock techniques;
- Tractor or machinery experience highly regarded, the ability to safely operate and maintain farm machinery and tools;
- Fluent English and excellent communication skills are essential;
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour in a rural outdoor environment;
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a small team;
- A valid manual driver’s licence.
