This position is highly collaborative and will participate in multifunctional teams, including interactions with Site and Functional personnel at all levels of the organization, including: leadership, operational, and technical personnel.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe primary responsibilities of this role, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Generalist, are to:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tDevelop, implement and evaluate high hazard compliance programs (e.g. fall protection/elevated work, confined space, hot work, excavation, etc.);\r\n\tConduct incident investigations for recordables and near misses with high potential, including root cause and trend analysis for corrective actions. Track investigations to completion and verify effectiveness;\r\n\tWork with site to oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of site procedures to assure personnel, contractor and facility compliance to regulatory and company requirements;\r\n\tAbility to serve as a chair for specific HSE committee’s and/or specialty function assistance (industrial hygiene, environmental, occupational safety, construction as examples);\r\n\tAttend additional training as required;\r\n\tTrain new employees and supervisors on TIPPS software as well as selected topics such as (PPE wallchart, HAZCOM, etc.);\r\n\tAssess training needs related to safety and occupational health to ensure all team members receive the necessary training to perform work in a safe and legal manner;\r\n\tBuild effective relationships and partnerships within and across the organization while leading relationships with external stakeholders;\r\n\tSupport preparation of HSE permits and reports to ensure regulatory compliance with the operation and construction of air permits, waste management, worker protection, and Tier II requirements;\r\n\tPerform other duties as assigned that support the overall goal of the position;\r\n\tKnowledgeable of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, waste determinations, waste codes, and how to immediately communicate discovery of spills and leaks. Also, must know labeling, inspection, and recordkeeping requirements to accumulate waste in: satellite accumulation areas, less than 90-day containers, Universal Waste containers, and less than 90-day tanks;\r\n\tFamiliarity with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWHO YOU ARE\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nBayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRequired Qualifications:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tHigh school diploma with 6 years of chemical plant experience or equivalent environment;\r\n\tKnowledge of OSHA and/or similar governmental agencies;\r\n\tOperate effectively in a team environment or other multi-functional group;\r\n\tAbility to prioritize assigned duties;\r\n\tEffectively influence outside of HSE team;\r\n\tExcellent communication both written and verbal, computer skills and ability to work within a database;\r\n\tAbility to obtain additional education is desired.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPreferred Qualifications:\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\tTechnical experience and acumen with OSHA, EPA, and State Specific requirements;\r\n\tProfessional designation (CSP, RSO, CIH, CHMM, etc.);\r\n\tWorking knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards that impact Kansas City operations. \r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDomestic relocation assistance may be offered for this role.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n#LI_AMSUS\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nEmployees can expect to be paid a salary between $69,520.00 - $104,280.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
