\r\n\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tLead Farm Maintenance Technician\r\n\r\n\t\t\tDepartment: Maintenance\r\n\r\n\t\t\tReports To: Farm President\r\n\r\n\t\t\tDirect Reports: Maintenance assistant\r\n\r\n\t\t\tFLSA Status: Determined by HR\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tJOB Summary\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tThe Lead Farm Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance, repairs and upkeep of all the farm equipment and machinery, including but not limited to preventive maintenance checks, greasing, oil changes, pumps, separator, augers, fencing, back up equipment operator, maintenance records, PM program entries, etc. The role serves as the primary decision maker for maintenance priorities, ensuring tasks run smoothly, and work is completed properly.\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tMinimum Qualifications\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tEducation: \r\n\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\tHigh School Diploma or GED required, trade school certification preferred or equivalent hands-on mechanical experience may be considered\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tCertifications/Licenses: \r\n\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\tValid driver’s license required; certifications such as: ASE, Diesel engine, Electrical, Pneumatics, Hydraulics preferred\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tYears of Experience: \r\n\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\t3-5 years’ Work experience with preventive maintenance of equipment (trucks, tractors, skid steers, etc.)\r\n\t\t\t\t2-years of Mechanical experience\r\n\t\t\t\t2-years Welding and fabrication experience\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tMinimum Knowledge/Skills Required\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\tStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems\r\n\t\t\t\tAbility to follow directions, multitask and meet deadlines\r\n\t\t\t\tAbility to work independently and with a team\r\n\t\t\t\tPerform welding, fabrication, and preventive maintenance skills\r\n\t\t\t\tKnowledge of basic safety procedures and farm equipment operation\r\n\t\t\t\tGood problem solving and decision making abilities\r\n\t\t\t\tBasic computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel, outlook)\r\n\t\t\t\tTraining will be provided for specific techniques and computer programs utilized at Golden Oaks Farm\r\n\t\t\t\tMust be able to pass pre-employment physical\r\n\t\t\t\tPhysical ability to perform labor includes lifting, bending, climbing, and working under equipment\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tEssential Functions\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\tSchedule and perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment, systems, and facilities\r\n\t\t\t\tCoordinate and Conduct oil changes, lubrication, and related equipment servicing\r\n\t\t\t\tOperate farm equipment and machinery as needed\r\n\t\t\t\tPerform welding and fabrication for repairs and new builds\r\n\t\t\t\tAssign daily tasks to the Maintenance Assistant and monitor work quality\r\n\t\t\t\tPrioritize maintenance requests and determine repair vs. replace actions\r\n\t\t\t\tManage parts inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships\r\n\t\t\t\tPower wash and clean farm equipment regularly\r\n\t\t\t\tMaintain and repair farm structures and assigned maintenance areas\r\n\t\t\t\tTrack and order parts as directed; maintain clean and organized work areas\r\n\t\t\t\tFollow all farm safety protocols and assist in training others when needed\r\n\t\t\t\tTroubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate external service vendors\r\n\t\t\t\tSubmit receipts to office staff for documentation\r\n\t\t\t\tRead and interpret manuals and work orders for service tasks\r\n\t\t\t\tMaintain and repair barn components (e.g., gates, posts, waterers, headlocks, grates)\r\n\t\t\t\tMake repair/replacement decisions based on condition and functionality\r\n\t\t\t\tOversee and support maintenance assistant in daily tasks and scheduling\r\n\t\t\t\tCollaborate with the Herd Team on cross-functional maintenance projects\r\n\t\t\t\tAssist with farm and livestock operations when needed\r\n\t\t\t\tUnload trailers and truck deliveries\r\n\t\t\t\tRespond to after-hours equipment breakdowns, perform emergency repairs and participate in on-call rotation\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tSECONDARY FUNCTIONS\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\tServe as a backup equipment operator\r\n\t\t\t\tPerform backup scraping duties\r\n\t\t\t\tAssist with Assist with farm operations during peak workload periods\r\n\t\t\t\tAssist with forage hauling and storage operations\r\n\t\t\t\tSupport Farm team with special projects as assigned\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\tThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
