Founding Practice Manager | New Veterinary Hospital (Comox Valley)

Construction is officially underway for Black Creek Animal Hospital, and we are looking for a business-minded leader to help us open our doors in Fall 2026. This isn't a "business as usual" management role—this is a founding position for a builder who wants to design systems, hire a dream team, and share in the long-term success of a practice from Day 1.
Location: The Best of Vancouver Island
While our hospital is located in Black Creek, we are the heartbeat between Comox Valley and Campbell River.

The Role: From Blueprint to Bedside
As our Founding Practice Manager, you aren't inheriting someone else's mess or outdated systems. You are the architect of our operations.
Your First 6 Months:
- System Design: Implementing the PIMS, creating SOPs, and setting up the financial workflows.
- Team Curation: Recruiting and onboarding a founding team that aligns with our "people-first" philosophy.
- Community Connection: Being the face of the hospital as we introduce ourselves to our neighbours.
- Operational Immersion: You will spend time at the front desk during the launch phase. Not just to "cover phones," but to witness the client journey firsthand and refine our systems from the trenches.
The Rewards: Compensation for a Partner-Mindset
We want a leader who treats this business as their own. Our compensation structure is designed to reward growth, efficiency, and long-term loyalty.
- Starting Base: $65,000
- Year 1–2 Potential: Up to $90,000 (Base + performance milestones)
- Year 3+ Potential: Up to $100,000 (Base + EBITDA/Scale targets)
- The Long Game: Once established, the role transitions to a higher base ($75,000) plus a generous profit-sharing model.

Who You Are
You are a "hybrid" leader—equally comfortable analyzing a P&L statement as you are mentoring a receptionist or calming an anxious client.
- Experienced: You have a proven track record in medical management (Veterinary, Dental, or Human Med).
- Business Savvy: You understand how $COGS$, labor percentages, and client retention drive the health of a clinic.
- Resilient: You thrive in the "beautiful chaos" of a startup and enjoy the challenge of problem-solving on the fly.
