The Hatchery Specialist supports customers and internal teams by providing technical guidance across hatchery operations and broader poultry production systems. The role blends technical coordination, advisory service, and stakeholder engagement to ensure customers receive evidence-based solutions, linked to the company’s products, hatchery services, and equipment. The Hatchery Specialist is expected to demonstrate a growth mindset, build trust-based customer relationships, and communicate effectively to customers. What You Will Do Responsibilities include, however not limited to: Technical Coordination and Knowledge Building Develop and maintain minimum working knowledge across common poultry business models and production systems, including broiler, breeder (PS & GP), layer, and hatchery operations (DOP/DOC). Understand and communicate the company’s portfolio of services (e.g., provision, audit & maintenance of equipment) and link product benefits and hatchery services to customer business outcomes. Coordinate regularly with the BU’s Technical-Hatchery Manager (THM) & Marketing Specialist to stay current on service capabilities, key messaging, and solution offerings. Collaborate effectively with the 3rd Party Service providers to ensure vaccination schedules and equipment maintenance are met, hatchery supplies are readily available and pro-actively inform the THM of any related concern that may lead to disruption in the hatchery operations of customers. Engage in continuous learning through self-study and structured interviews with peers, customers, practitioners, and key opinion leaders (KOL’s). Customer Advisory and Support Offer solutions that prioritize customer operational improvements; serve as a trusted advisor by maximizing value creation related to hatchery support. Growth Mindset and Team Collaboration Demonstrate a growth mindset in problem-solving on farms and within cross-functional settings. Complete assigned learning modules and apply insights in daily work. Participate in team discussions to reinforce and model growth-oriented behaviors. Presentation and Communication Collaborate with the THM in the preparation of reports & presentations. Adapt communication style to varied customers’ backgrounds to ensure productivity and deliver expected results. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and customer education through clear and actionable content. What You Must have Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine, Animal Science, Poultry Science, or related field; equivalent practical experience considered. Experience in hatchery operations and breeder or broiler management. Foundational understanding (minimum working knowledge) of: Day Old Pullet/Day Old Chick hatching principles and hatchery KPIs Broiler production (grow-out to dressing) Breeder rearing and production (including Grand Parent and layer breeders) Commercial layer rearing and production Vaccination programming across production types Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate across teams. Curiosity, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Organized and self-directed, able to create and execute a learning timeline.
