Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Turf Farm Manager to lead the cultivation, maintenance, and operational management of our turf production farm. This role is vital in ensuring the production of high-quality turf for landscaping, sports fields, and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in farming, horticulture, and equipment operation, combined with supervisory experience and a passion for sustainable agriculture. As a Turf Farm Manager, you will oversee daily farm activities, manage staff, and ensure that all operations meet quality standards while maintaining safety and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a thriving farm operation with a focus on innovation and excellence in turf cultivation. Being able to understand and speak Spanish is a plus but isn't necessary.
Duties
- Supervise daily farm operations including planting, mowing, fertilizing, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting of turfgrass
- Coordinate and oversee farm staff, providing training and guidance on equipment use, safety protocols, and best practices in turf cultivation
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, mowers, irrigation systems, and power tools; perform or oversee equipment repairs when necessary
- Implement irrigation schedules to optimize water use and ensure healthy turf growth; monitor soil moisture levels
- Conduct regular inspections of the farm grounds to identify issues related to pests, disease, or equipment malfunction; take corrective actions promptly
- Maintain detailed records of farm activities including planting dates, treatments applied, equipment maintenance logs, and crop yields
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by enforcing proper handling of tools and machinery; promote a safe working environment for all team members
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in farming or agricultural settings with leadership responsibilities
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance; welding skills are a plus
- Hands-on experience with animal husbandry and animal care if applicable to the farm operations
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, tractors, and other farm machinery safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of horticulture practices including turfgrass growing techniques and greenhouse experience preferred
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, greenhouse management, and horticultural best practices
- Strong understanding of basic math for measurements, calculations related to planting schedules or fertilizer application
- Experience with power tools, hand tools, heavy lifting, and general maintenance tasks on a farm setting
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting and long hours outdoors in various weather conditions
- Az/Dz license but not necessary, heavy machinery operator.

Pay: $21.16-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 70 per week
