Join our Data Analytics and Engineering (DAE) Group as an AI Data Engineer. This role is ideal for a passionate technologist eager to build modern data products and solutions powered by Databricks, Unity Catalog, Microsoft AI Foundry services such as Azure Open AI & AI search along with similar cutting-edge AI services from other providers. You’ll design, develop, deploy, maintain and most importantly support data & AI products to deliver meaningful robust, resilient data products for our clients. AI Data engineer will report to the Data Product Architect, Analytics and Operations Lead within the Digital, Data, and Analytics organization, and execute data engineering and AI use cases in support of the digital and analytics strategy of Zoetis.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, Develop, Deploy, and Support Data Pipelines:
Build, and maintain robust data pipelines to ensure efficient data flow and transformation across the enterprise. Assemble large, complex data sets that fulfill functional and business requirements, ensuring the data architecture remains optimal and scalable.
Ensure Operational Effectiveness & Support:
Take ownership of performance, uptime, and release management for the enterprise data platform, ensuring high standards of reliability and efficiency.
Build and Support AI Solutions:
Design, develop, deploy, maintain, and support data-driven AI solutions that address business needs and drive innovation.
Uphold Quality and Security Standards:
Adhere to established data analytics quality and security standards for all data and AI solutions, ensuring compliance and best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Operations Research, or related field. Minimum of five years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, with demonstrated knowledge of AI implementations.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Azure Databricks: Expertise in designing, developing, and managing scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using Azure Databricks. Proficiency in managing data governance, access controls, and cataloging within Databricks Unity Catalog.
- Azure Data Factory: Skilled in building, orchestrating, and monitoring data workflows and integrations with Azure Data Factory.
- AI Engineering LLMs, RAG, and Advanced Analytics: Hands-on experience implementing, integrating, and supporting Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based AI solutions, including expertise in prompt engineering techniques for large language models, natural language integration, using Microsoft AI Foundry services such as Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search, as well as similar cutting‑edge AI services from other providers, including Databricks Genie and Agent Frameworks.
- Operational Support Experience: Strong experience providing operational support for enterprise data platforms and AI solutions, ensuring performance, reliability, and timely issue resolution. Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a track record of managing complex, cross-functional deliverables.
- Databricks Genie: Experience utilizing Databricks Genie for AI solutions in enterprise environments.
- SQL & Python Programming: Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data engineering, analytics, and AI solution development.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated strong analytical abilities, with expertise in interpreting complex data and delivering actionable insights.
- Commercial domain experience and strong familiarity with ERP systems—particularly Salesforce and SAP—is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment through attitude and actions.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $89,000-$128,000. Our salary ranges are
determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range
for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional
factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation
