Job Summary
We are a fast-paced and growing practice dedicated to ALWAYS DOING RIGHT BY THE PET. We keep losing employees to veterinary school, which is a great sign that we hire smart people and train and mentor them well.
We are seeking 2 to 3 good-natured and dedicated Veterinary Assistants or Veterinary Technicians to join our team. You will be especially well-suited to, and happy in, our practice if you have a genuine interest in veterinary medicine, especially internal and emergency medicine, and want to advance in your career. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable pivoting to accommodate a steady stream of same day urgent care work-ins and emergencies.
We see a wide range of well patients and critically ill patients, including after-hours emergencies. Dr. Hsu takes after-hours emergency call 24/7, 365 days per year. We have a Snyder-ICU so at any given time will have a number of hospitalized patients for situations like urinary blockage, pancreatitis, DKA, dietary indiscretion, kidney failure, respiratory distress, FIP, as well as pre and post-op patients for surgeries such as linear foreign body, mass removal, intussusception, GDV...
As a privately owned, non-corporate practice, we offer flexible schedules and a very inclusive and fluid environment. No-one is ever "just a tech" or "just CSR". Everyone is welcome and encouraged to not only help the veterinarian to arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan, but also to understand the medicine and diagnostics behind it.
While we often train from the ground up, now we need some experienced assistants and technicians. For example, experienced enough to be able to work a 12noon to 12midnight shift that includes caring for the hospital patients after-hours.
We offer a very generous employee pet discount that includes free exams, even on emergency, as well as free vaccines and fecals, and all labs at cost. In addition, we reimburse for RVT exams and personally driven continuing education.
We hope to hear from you soon!
