Great Gun Oysters is seeking a dedicated, full-time Oyster Farmer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a beautiful marine environment and gain hands-on experience in shellfish farming at one of Long Island’s premier oyster farms.

Key Responsibilities

Cultivate, harvest, and maintain oyster crops
Handle, move, and manage oyster cages and gear
Operate boats and assist with on-water farm operations
Perform daily farm maintenance and equipment upkeep
Sort, grade, and prepare oysters for market
Work year-round in outdoor weather conditions
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient farm operations

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong work ethic; dedicated and self-motivated
Punctual and reliable
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Willingness to learn and grow with the company
Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds regularly
Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
1-year boating experience
Familiarity with the marine environment
