Overview
We're hiring! The Technical Service Manager is responsible and accountable for providing research, technical support and sales assistance to customers. Responsible for developing or collaborate with R&D/marketing in designing and developing experimental protocols, internal /external presentation and technical documents, initiate tests with customers, and coordinate testing parameters with Research & Development and Customer Laboratory Services. Also responsoible to analyze /collaborate with R&D to analyze and interpret results and report findings to customers in a highly professional manner.
This is a remote position and may be performed from anywhere within the continental United States. Candidates located near a major airport are preferred.
Travel requirements may vary throughout the year, primarily in North America, up to 75%.

Responsibilities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to initiate/collaborate to initiate customer trials, develop experimental protocols, data analysis, and professional reports to customers.
- Ability to review scientific literature and highlight data internal /customer's presentations.
- Must maintain industry knowledge by attending tradeshows, conferences, etc. Participate in the technical areas of the product launch process and support successful product launches.
- When appropriate and possible, publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals, either as principal author or co-author
- Technical data sharing via internal/customer's presentation, technical conferences, trade shows, trade publications, peer-reviewed journals, etc.
- Responsible for presenting industry information to external groups and any relevant research findings
- Provide technical training to the sales team and customers
- Identification of market trends and help prepare Kemin to capitalize on emerging trends.
- Responsible for generating and presenting new ideas to the business.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree with 3+ years of relative work experience OR
- Master's degree with 2+ years of relative work experience OR
- PhD in a related field of study with relative work experience
- Experience in the pet food industry is preferred.
- Computer and software proficiency including Microsoft Office
- Experience working in a cross-functional/multicultural team environment and adherence to a Servant Leadership philosophy.
- Effective communication including to support the resolution of customer complaints.
- Ability to communicate the need to balance quality issues with production schedule needs to operations personnel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Demonstrates leadership skills and effective managerial capability of several projects.
- Travel 75%.
