Internship Description
Are you passionate about agriculture and eager to explore new cultures? We offer a unique
opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team in Quebec, Canada, for an agronomy
internship focused on field vegetable production. After completing the Canadian growing season,
the second phase of the program takes place in the United States. There you will work directly with
farmers and the US agronomists in the Southeast. You’ll gain practical experience and mentorship
that will prepare you for a successful career as a crop advisor.
Upon completion of the internship, you will have the possibility to transition into a full-time crop
advisor role for Organzo, working remotely in your home state. In this role, you will be responsible
for supporting and advising local US grower clients to optimize their returns on the farm.
Principal responsibilities
- Work with the agronomic team to execute weekly field scouting, recommendations and farm visits
- Assist in data collection and data processing for variety trials and other research and development projects
- Collaborate remotely with the USA branch team to forward the development of production in the southeast
- Opportunity to take on an independent project for company development
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the company by exposure to the different teams (agronomy, sales, development)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- New graduate from an undergraduate or graduate program, in agricultural science or related field
- Current resident of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, or North Carolina
- Willingness to travel to Quebec, Canada, for an internship program
- Strong observational skills, adaptability and willingness to learn
- Problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
- Comfortable driving or travelling for a long period of time
- Valid driver’s license and car
- Valid passport
Compensation: To be discussed
Timeframe: The Internship will be broken into two periods of training:
1. Montreal, Quebec, Canada: from mid-May to mid-October
2. Remote + Traveling, Southeast, USA: from mid-October to end of November
Start date: Mid-May, or after graduation
