Merchandising of grain includes the purchase of grain, the sale of grain, the shipment of grain, coordination and management of grain movement, freight arbitrage, commodity conditioning, bin management and the management of grain margins and market risk within the policy and guidelines set by the Board and/or the General Manager. In furtherance of these duties, the Merchandiser has the following duties and responsibilities:\r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\n\r\n\r\n\tManage all aspects of grain merchandising, including grain purchasing, sales, shipment coordination, and grain movement\r\n\tMonitor daily market conditions and competitor strategies to inform procurement and merchandising decisions\r\n\tDevelop and implement grain procurement strategies and producer marketing programs\r\n\tProvide oversight and support to Grain Marketing Specialists and others involved in grain purchasing\r\n\tExecute and manage all necessary hedging activity for company grain transactions\r\n\tOversee grain inventory placement, condition, and overall bin management\r\n\tBuild and maintain strong relationships with grain sales customers and develop new market opportunities\r\n\tCollaborate with the Grain Manager and General Manager to establish margins, contracts, and marketing strategies\r\n\tMaintain regular communication with producers, customers, and internal staff via phone, email, and in-person visits\r\n\tKeep detailed contact and transactional records at an approved DMG office location\r\n\tMeet or exceed established production goals and performance quotas\r\n\tUtilize company-issued technology, including computer, timekeeping system, and mobile phone\r\n\tMaintain company-provided vehicles and equipment in a clean, safe, and professional condition\r\n\tPerform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager\r\n\r\n\r\nALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
