Position Overview
Prins USA is seeking a
Sales Engineer - Energy & Climate Systems to support the growing North American controlled-environment agriculture market.
This role focuses on
greenhouse energy and climate systems, including heating, cooling, and dehumidification technologies used in modern commercial greenhouse operations.
The Sales Engineer will help
design, sell, and support both single-scope and multi-scope greenhouse projects, while helping Prins USA and Green V USA develop their capabilities as a
full-service systems integrator.
The position will be
based in the Stevensburg, Virginia office and will work closely with internal project teams, greenhouse growers, and international partners.
The candidate will receive
technical training from our Dutch sister company Jan Voshol, gaining exposure to advanced European greenhouse engineering practices while applying practical American solutions for local customers.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Client Development
• Build relationships with greenhouse growers, developers, and industry partners
• Identify opportunities for
energy efficiency and climate control improvements
• Develop technical proposals and system solutions
• Present system options and develop the
business case for different energy strategies
• Support the sales process from initial consultation through project delivery
Climate & Energy System Design Support
Assist in developing and specifying systems such as:
• Greenhouse heating systems
• Hot water boiler systems
• CHP / energy optimization
• Cooling technologies
• Dehumidification systems
• Integrated climate control strategies
Work with internal engineering teams and international partners to ensure systems are properly designed and integrated.
Systems Integration
Support the integration of
energy and climate systems within larger greenhouse projects, coordinating with:
• Irrigation systems
• Electrical systems
• Climate computers
• Automation and controls
Help Prins USA and Green V USA deliver
complete greenhouse solutions rather than individual components.
Technical Documentation & Review
• Interpret and review
electrical drawings and system schematics
• Assist with equipment specification and design documentation
• Support installation teams during commissioning and startup phases when needed
International Collaboration
• Participate in training with
Jan Voshol
• Apply
Dutch greenhouse engineering principles to North American projects
• Maintain communication with international technical partners
Qualifications
Required
• Engineering, technical, or horticulture-related background (degree or equivalent experience)
• Knowledge of
energy systems, HVAC, or climate control technologies
• Ability to
read electrical and technical drawings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to travel to client sites and project locations
Preferred
• Experience in
commercial greenhouse or horticulture projects
• Experience with
greenhouse climate control systems
• Technical sales or sales engineering background
• Understanding of greenhouse environmental control strategies
