The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on flour milling equipment, grain handling systems, pelletizing equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant flour and feed manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting feed safety programs.\r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\n\r\nEquipment & Mechanical Maintenance\r\n\r\n\r\n\tTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain mill equipment including grinders, mixers, pellet mills, conveyors, bucket elevators, load-out systems, and related machinery.\r\n\tPerform welding, fabrication, and mechanical repairs as needed.\r\n\tMaintain motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, augers, and pneumatic systems.\r\n\tAssist with electrical troubleshooting when necessary (as qualified).\r\n\tRespond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.\r\n\r\n\r\nPreventive Maintenance\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPerform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).\r\n\tPrioritize emergency repairs while maintaining adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.\r\n\tConduct pre-operational and post-maintenance inspections to ensure equipment is safe, clean, and production ready.\r\n\tVerify equipment is free of grain buildup, dust accumulation, and foreign material prior to returning to service.\r\n\tMaintain dust control systems and assist in explosion prevention efforts.\r\n\tInspect and maintain grain handling systems to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.\r\n\tVerify proper function of backflow prevention devices and utility systems.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nFeed Safety & Regulatory Compliance\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAdhere to company policies, safety procedures, and feed safety programs (including FDA and FSMA guidelines).\r\n\tSupport compliance with preventive controls for animal food regulations.\r\n\tComplete and submit maintenance documentation accurately to support feed safety audits and inspections.\r\n\tEnsure repairs meet manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.\r\n\r\n\r\nFacility & Operational Support\r\n\r\n\r\n\tMaintain facility infrastructure including doors, structures, plumbing, compressed air systems, and utilities.\r\n\tSupport plant sanitation efforts related to maintenance activities.\r\n\tMaintain a clean and safe work area, following lockout/tagout and confined space procedures.\r\n\tFill in for production employees as needed to support continuous plant operations.\r\n\r\n\r\nPhysical Requirements\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\r\n\tAbility to climb ladders and stairs.\r\n\tAbility to work in dusty environments and varying temperatures.\r\n\tAbility to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces as needed.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nALL INQUIRIES ARE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL.
