Milk & Honey Ranch is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Agricultural Operations Couple to oversee the cultivation of crops, management of aquaponics systems, and maintenance of all agricultural fields. This individual will ensure sustainable, high-quality production while maintaining the beauty and productivity of the ranch’s farmland.

Qualifications

Proven experience in crop farming, aquaponics, or related agricultural management.
Strong understanding of soil science, irrigation systems, and pest management.
Mechanical aptitude for maintaining agricultural and aquaponics equipment.
Ability to plan and execute seasonal agricultural schedules.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred

Degree or certification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Aquaculture, or Environmental Science.
Experience in hospitality or agritourism environments.
Familiarity with organic certification standards and sustainable agriculture practices.

Responsible For

Crop Production

Plan, plant, cultivate, and harvest seasonal crops following sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices.
Manage soil health through composting, crop rotation, and organic fertilization.
Monitor crop growth and health, diagnosing and addressing issues related to pests, disease, or nutrient deficiency.
Maintain accurate records of planting schedules, yields, and soil conditions.

Aquaponics & Greenhouse Management

Operate and maintain aquaponics systems, ensuring balance between aquatic life and plant health.
Oversee fish care, feeding schedules, and water quality testing.
Manage greenhouse crops, irrigation systems, and environmental controls (temperature, humidity, lighting).
Troubleshoot mechanical or biological issues in the aquaponics system to maintain consistent production.

Field & Grounds Maintenance

Oversee seeding, irrigation, and general field upkeep.
Operate tractors, tillers, and other agricultural equipment safely and effectively.
Coordinate with other teams to maintain ranch aesthetics and guest safety around farming areas.

Sustainability & Education

Implement eco-friendly farming techniques that align with Milk & Honey Ranch’s sustainability goals.
Collaborate with guest programs to provide educational tours or experiences related to farming and food production.
Research and introduce new crops or systems that can improve productivity or guest engagement.
