Experienced Pig Farmer required at LINDHAM PROPRIETORS grower site, Wild Horse Plains SA 5501.

Responsibilities, tasks & duties include

Maintaining a high-quality environment for the welfare and well-being of stock and ensuring Biosecurity requirements are met
Production management/supervision
Reporting and record keeping
Staff supervision and training
Quality control
Workplace health & safety
Animal welfare
Building & equipment
Site and services
Supervising and participating in the daily inspection of livestock, so that their needs are met, and environmental parameters are maintained
Tend to routine husbandry of all stock
Supervision of data collection and accuracy in recording to aid stock and inventory control
Provide overall maintenance and compliance of the Company Quality Assurance Program for the site ensuring that all relevant documentation is kept current
Supervise less experienced Team members
Participate in company and industry training sessions and workshops as required

The position will cover all aspects of livestock duties as required.

Pig/ Livestock experience is essential
Knowledge of APIQ Standards desirable not essential
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Must have a current drivers licence
Experience with common hand tools
Competence to work independently
Ability to work in a team environment
Flexibility to work at other sites when required
Be physically fit and able to work in the outdoor environment
Applicants must be currently living in Australia.

The position may require rostered weekend & public holiday hours. Renumeration is above pastoral award rates and subject to applicants’ knowledge and experience. Accommodation is included on site (3 bedroom house)
