Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with experience in various veterinary practices. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our veterinary staff in delivering excellent service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory work, including blood draws and urinalysis
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
Monitor animal patients' vital signs and behavior during procedures
Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment
Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques

Skills

Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology
Experience with animal husbandry and critical care practices
Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including sample collection and analysis
Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to animal dentistry
Ability to handle various species safely, including dogs, cats, and equines
Knowledge of aseptic techniques for surgical procedures
Experience in dog training or grooming is a plus
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
