We are seeking a senior Accountant to join our Northgate based team as Financial Reporting Accountant. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, APAC you will be responsible for delivering accurate and compliant financial reporting through strong governance aligned with SOX, IFRS, and AASB standards, while managing internal controls and liaising with auditors and key stakeholders. This role would suit a first mover from public practice or a commercial accountant that enjoys technical financial accounting. You would be joining a global company in the rewarding veterinary industry while enjoying exciting career paths within an APAC Finance HQ environment.
Your responsibilities will include –
- Providing financial governance processes, including the alignment of internal controls, risk management, and compliance initiatives to support accurate and reliable financial reporting.
- Preparation of daily cash flow monitoring and forecasting as well as periodic reporting.
- Preparation of financial statements for statutory compliance, and management of audit work.
- Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly statutory and regulatory reports.
- Completion and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of Monthly payroll reporting.
- Preparation and compilation of detailed audit working papers as requested by the CFO and Group Financial Controller; acting as a key liaison with external auditors.
About You
Ideally you will display –
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications.
- Demonstrated minimum five years experience in a technical financial accounting/reporting role.
- Experience within an international, complex organisation and exposure to IFRS or Sarbanes Oxley reporting requirements.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and ERP systems.
- Well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt your communication to suit different internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on seeking out continuous improvement opportunities.
