Pet City is a family owned business servicing the local community since 1957. It is our goal to provide the most up-to-date information on animal husbandry and pet care, and to offer 5 star service that exceeds expectations. We have several departments including small pets, bird & reptile, aquarium and online and we pride ourselves on the specialised knowledge our passionate team can offer in these areas. Sometimes, we have a few gaps that we need to fill with the right person.

Bird & Reptile Department Sales Assistant - Casual

We're on the lookout for a sales assistant in our bird & reptile department (birds, reptiles & creepy crawlies). Candidates must have weekend availability. We're looking for someone who has first-hand experience looking after these pets who will thrive in our busy store - helping other pet-lovers.

We are looking for someone who:

Has solid knowledge of birds and/or reptiles
Thrives in a team environment
Has previous retail experience
Enjoys sharing valuable advice with other pet lovers
Has excellent verbal communication skills
Is available on weekends & public holidays

The role:

At Pet City, we pride ourselves on the passion and knowledge of our team. In this role, you will primarily be assisting bird & reptile customers by providing valuable information and product recommendations to help their pets live their best lives!

The role also entails maintaining animal enclosures as well as restocking and tidying retail areas as needed.

Experience with animal husbandry is highly regarded but not essential.
