Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
- Perform routine laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor animal patients during procedures and recovery
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Provide support in dental procedures, utilizing dental terminology and techniques
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennel areas
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint methods
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Veterinary technician experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, including animal husbandry practices
- Experience in veterinary critical care or emergency situations is preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary medicine
- Equine experience is a plus for those working with larger animals
- Proficiency in dog handling, training, grooming, and general pet care practices
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and understand dental terminology

Pay: $27.00-$31.00 per hour
