Position Summary:
-
Participates in the execution of projects and experiments, including behavioral experiments.

Participates in small animal handling and husbandry.
-
Assists with the maintenance of information about breeding colony and bird health.
-
Assists in recording results, performing calculations and compiling and analyzing data.
-
Assists with the demonstration techniques or the operation of equipment, software.
-
Contributes to equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and arranging for servicing.
-
Participates in maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area.
-
Ensures compliance with safety regulations in the use of equipment by monitoring operations, conducting regular inspections, and promoting adherence to established safety protocols.

Assists in ensuring equipment is used in compliance with safety regulations and organizational protocols.
-
Ensures proper storage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
-
Assists in the maintenance and inventory, and with the purchasing of equipment and materials.
Qualifications:
-
Attention to detail.
-
Proficiency with Python and other programming languages.

Available on weekends
Education/Experience:
-
Experience working with animals.
-
At least 1 year working with live animals.
-
Degree in biology, neuroscience, or related field.
Location: This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (4) qualifier on a scale of 0-4.
