Job Title: Veterinary Hospital Assistant

Location: Lakewood Veterinary Hospital

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview:

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to our clients and patients while ensuring a positive experience for both.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide compassionate care to clients and their pets.

· Educate clients on pet health, care, and preventative measures.

· Safely restrain both canines and felines for examinations and procedures.

· Perform laboratory procedures, including blood and urine analysis.

· Conduct venipuncture and place IV catheters.

· Administer IV, IM, and SQ injections as directed.

· Perform medical calculations accurately for dosages and treatments.

· Evaluate cytology, fecal, urine, and blood samples.

· Monitor patients during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.

· Understand and apply the basic usage and dosages of commonly used medications.

· Perform other duties as assigned to support the veterinary team.

· Dependable and able to work a flexible work schedule.

1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
