Position Overview:
We’re hiring a Plant Manager to lead the operation and administration of our advanced production mill in Belle Fourche, SD. In this role, you’ll ensure timely, cost-effective production while providing strong leadership to plant personnel. You’ll serve as an integral part of the management team and will be responsible for team performance, scheduling, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead and manage production teams with clear direction and performance expectations
- Delegate tasks effectively to ensure customer service commitments are met
- Identify training needs and ensure team members receive proper development
- Promote a strong, supportive, and collaborative team culture
Operations & Scheduling
- Schedule and manage production workflows to meet deadlines and maintain cost efficiency
- Ensure plant throughput is consistently efficient and effective
- Prioritize tasks and maintain high standards of organization under pressure
Customer Service
- Deliver excellent internal and external customer service by understanding needs and offering thoughtful solutions
- Collaborate with customer advisors to ensure production aligns with customer agreements
- Resolve customer issues with a hands-on, solution-focused approach
Maintenance & Technical Support
- Assist with mechanical, electrical, computer, and industrial control repairs as needed
Safety & Facility Standards
- Enforce all Health & Safety and Security policies to maintain a safe work environment
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards throughout the plant
- Promote a culture of safety, including proactive accident prevention
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with departments including Customer Service, Regional Sales Managers, Territory Account Managers, Technical Support, and Nutritionists
- Engage with internal partners such as HR, accounting, and the project/maintenance manager
Additional Duties
- Support capital project initiatives in coordination with the project manager
- Take full ownership of P&L responsibilities and be capable of explaining operational metrics

- Experience leading teams in a plant or manufacturing setting
- Strong understanding of production scheduling, purchasing, and maintenance operations
- P&L experience and financial acumen
- Track record of turning around underperforming teams or facilities
