Job Overview
Make a splash in the Aquaculture industry! We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Fish Health Hatchery Support Technician to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the growth and health of our Trout/fish populations through various hatchery operations. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical skills, Aquaculture Health/ Hatchery experience, and a passion for collaboration and innovation. You will be responsible for ensuring that our fish are raised in optimal conditions while adhering to environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Conduct fish health and welfare checks across Troutlodge facilities
Assist with sample collection for health certifications and necropsies
Maintain treatment logs and antibiotic use records
Support hatchery operations and egg quality improvement
Perform water sampling and assist with audits for regulatory compliance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hatchery, sales, and genetics

Requirements

Experience in aquaculture is highly desirable.
Knowledge of environmental law as it pertains to aquatic life management.
Familiarity with GIS applications for data management is a plus.
Strong skills in data collection and analysis to monitor fish health and growth metrics.
Proficient in fish handling techniques with a focus on bio-security
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Teams, etc.)
Basic math skills for accurate data recording and calculations related to hatchery operations.
Ability to perform procedures when necessary for health assessments or research purposes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.25 - $25.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
