Responsibilities

Conduct thorough physical examinations of animals to assess health status and identify medical issues.
Diagnose illnesses and injuries using veterinary terminology and clinical skills, including laboratory tests and imaging techniques.
Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each animal’s needs, utilizing knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy.
Perform surgical procedures with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
Administer vaccinations, medications, and other treatments while ensuring proper animal restraint and handling.
Assist in emergency critical care situations, providing immediate interventions for animals in distress or trauma.
Conduct animal catheterization, and other specialized procedures as needed for comprehensive pet care.
Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, grooming, and preventive health measures to promote long-term wellness.
Maintain detailed medical records of treatments, laboratory results, and procedures following veterinary standards.
Support laboratory testing processes by collecting samples accurately and maintaining sterile environments.
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and veterinary regulations during procedures involving animal restraint or invasive techniques.

Requirements

Proven veterinary experience with a strong background in animal care across various species; prior veterinary critical care experience is highly valued.
Demonstrated ability in animal restraint techniques and handling multiple species safely and effectively.
Solid understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
Experience performing surgical procedures including catheterization and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures relevant to veterinary diagnostics.
Excellent communication skills to educate pet owners clearly about health concerns and treatment options.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail during complex procedures.
