Pioneer Veterinary Services, a privately owned mixed animal practice with locations in Olds and Sundre, Alberta, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our supportive and skilled team.
This position is based primarily at our Olds clinic, a mixed animal practice with over 60% small animal caseload and a well-established, mature technical team. Our goal is to maintain three RVTs in-clinic at all times, and we’re looking to welcome the next teammate who will strengthen our small animal surgical and anesthesia capacity while enjoying the variety that mixed practice provides.
While this role is focused in Olds, we remain open to considering placement at either location for the right candidate whose skills and career goals align with the needs of our Sundre practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality surgical, anesthesia, diagnostic, and wellness care.
- Provide RVT-led client education and follow-up support.
- Assist in large animal support as part of a balanced rotation.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Participate in team-based after-hours and weekend call coverage (1-in-6).
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) with valid ABVTA registration in good standing.
- Minimum 1 year of mixed animal and/or anesthesia experience is preferred.
- Strong skills in small animal anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, and client communication; equine/bovine experience an asset.
- Experience with Cornerstone or similar veterinary software preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between locations as needed.
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and proactive.

Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday (8-hour shifts).
- Saturday shifts at our Sundre location rotated evenly, with a scheduled weekday off in lieu.
- 1-in-6 to 1 -in 7 after-hours call rotation, shared between both locations.
