Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform various laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments to animals
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during surgeries
- Correct positioning for x-rays
- Clean and maintain equipment and instruments used in veterinary procedures
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience working as a veterinary technician
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques for various species
- Experience in providing animal care
- Knowledge of large animal care and handling is a plus
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and administer fluids as needed
- Familiarity with aseptic technique in surgical settings
- Experience in maintaining animal husbandry practices for cleanliness and disease prevention
