About the Role:
Flinders University is seeking a motivated and innovative Associate Lecturer or Lecturer in Sustainable Agriculture to contribute to high-quality teaching and impactful research. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop career ready graduates, while developing a research profile aligned with Flinders University's strategic strengths in agriculture, environment and sustainability.
The Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Sustainable Agriculture will contribute across:
- High-quality research in sustainable agriculture aligned to College research strengths
- Innovative, student-centred teaching using contemporary, flexible and multi-mode delivery
- Supervision and support of research students (commensurate with level)
- Industry and stakeholder engagement that enhances teaching, learning and research outcomes
Appointment at Level B (Lecturer) is open to domestic and international candidates. Relocation and visa support is available to the successful candidate.
Appointment at Level A (Associate Lecturer) is open to domestic candidates only.
About You:
You are an emerging or established academic with a passion for sustainable agriculture and a strong commitment to teaching excellence and research quality. You are collaborative, student-focused and research-active, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to both education and scholarship. Your expertise may align with areas such as soil science, biotechnology, crop improvement, vertical farming, integrated farming systems, agrivoltaics, precision agriculture, biosecurity, agroecology, or related disciplines aligned to Flinders University research strengths.
As Associate Lecturer / Lecturer in Sustainable Agriculture, you will bring:
- A completed or near completed PhD or equivalent qualification in sustainable agriculture or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated evidence of, or capacity for, high-quality tertiary teaching, including curriculum design and delivery across face-to-face and online modes
- A research track record appropriate to career stage, including quality publications and engagement with competitive research funding
Desirable:
- Experience in honours and/or higher degree research supervision
- Capacity to contribute to curriculum review, accreditation and quality assurance processes
