Ellens Equipment is hiring an Equipment Service Writer to join our team in McBain, MI (about 12 miles southeast of Cadillac). In this role you will assist in the daily operations of our service department and will communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and timelines. This individual will work closely with the Service Manager to oversee service scheduling, provide accurate service quotes and schedule repair work both in-shop and in-field.

What you will be doing:
- Assist the Service Manager in leading a team of 7+ service technicians
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and timelines
- Provide accurate service quotes and schedule repair work both in-shop and in-field
- Coordinate setup of new farm machinery and agriculture equipment
- Manage service billing and ensure accurate invoicing
- Schedule delivery and hauling of equipment (new, used, and repaired)
- Prioritize daily job assignments for service technicians
- Submit warranty claims in a timely and accurate manner
- Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continuous feedback to service staff
- Ensure service work meets quality standards and customer expectations

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technical understanding of agriculture, heavy equipment, and farm machinery
- High school diploma required; vocational/technical school certificate preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Previous experience in equipment service writing or service management
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Capable of working extended hours during peak seasons
- Experience in supervising technicians and managing service operations is preferred
- Administrative and data entry skills are highly beneficial
