The Production Supervisor is responsible for executing daily production and shipping line operations as directed by management. This position focuses on ensuring grading, sanitation, startup, shutdown, and production processes are completed safely and efficiently. The Production Supervisor works closely with Operations Manager to carry out daily operational plans. This role is hands-on and floor-focused, ensuring equipment is operating properly and cleaning and sanitation procedures are followed.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily Line Operations
• Follow daily production and shipping instructions provided by management.
• Start up and shut down grading and shipping lines according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor line performance throughout shifts to ensure consistent product flow.
• Assist with product changeovers and line adjustments as directed.
• Communicate operational issues to management promptly.
Sanitation & Facility Upkeep
• Ensure grading lines, work areas, and surrounding production spaces are cleaned and maintained.
• Oversee daily sanitation tasks and verify cleaning procedures are completed correctly.
• Maintain orderly and safe working conditions across the production floor.
Equipment Monitoring
• Observe grading and shipping equipment for proper operation.
• Report equipment failures or performance concerns to maintenance personnel.
• Perform basic operational checks and routine tasks as assigned.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and repair work when requested by maintenance personnel or management.
Safety Compliance
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Promote safe work practices among team members.
• Identify and report safety hazards immediately.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.
Team Support & Communication
• Provide daily direction to line workers regarding assigned production tasks.
• Ensure employees are following proper procedures and operational standards.
• Support onboarding and training of new employees as directed by management.
• Maintain clear communication with Operation Manager, and Maintenance teams.
Reporting & Documentation
• Assist with daily production tracking and reporting.
• Complete required shift and operational documentation.
• Provide status updates to management regarding line performance and sanitation completion.
