Role Description
Working within the office of the CFO, The Finance Lead, Strategic Initiatives plays a critical role to support the Head of Finance Operational Excellence, PMO & Strategy, and the broader Finance organization. This position provides critical support in advancing Zoetis’s Finance transformation agenda by managing the execution of strategic initiatives, driving change management efforts, and delivering financial analysis that enables sound, senior-level decision-making. The Finance Strategic Initiatives Lead will report to the Head of Finance Operational Excellence, PMO & Strategy. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented executor with a consulting and strategic mindset, someone who can simultaneously manage multiple workstreams with precision, build strong cross-functional relationships, and translate strategic direction into structured, accountable plans. This role operates in a high-visibility environment and requires a professional who brings both analytical rigor and organizational excellence to everything they do.
Responsibilities
Strategic Initiatives Support:
- Support the end-to-end program management of Finance Forward transformation initiatives. From scoping and planning through execution, monitoring, and value realization.
- Simultaneously track, prioritize, and drive multiple projects across the Finance transformation portfolio, maintaining integrated project plans, governance frameworks, milestone tracking, and Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID) logs with a high degree of accuracy and organizational discipline.
- Support the preparation of executive-level materials including executive dashboards, steering committee decks, and board-ready summaries covering initiative progress, value capture, and key decisions required.
- Assist in developing business cases, financial models, and ROI frameworks to evaluate and prioritize transformation investments.
- Track and report value realization against Finance Forward KPIs, including cost-to-serve improvement, process efficiency gains, and benchmark attainment versus peers.
- Support benchmarking, scenario analysis, and performance diagnostics that inform C-suite-level strategic decisions.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders.
Change Management & Organizational Adoption:
- Support the design and execution of change management strategies for Finance Forward initiatives, including stakeholder mapping, impact assessments, communication plans, training design, and adoption tracking.
- Partner with Finance Leadership Team members and business partners to reinforce initiative sponsorship and sustain momentum through the change curve.
- Act as a coordination point between the Office of the CFO and cross-functional partners across IT, HR, Legal, Commercial Finance, and Controllership — ensuring alignment and timely execution.
- Help establish and maintain Finance’s operating rhythm for strategic initiatives: steering committees, workstream reviews, and reporting cadences.
Support Finance Leadership Team Operations:
- Support the Head of Finance Operational Excellence, Strategy and PMO in the responsibility of chief of staff and finance operations by maintaining track of minutes and agreements post FLT meetings.
- Maintain a calendar of Finance operations in coordination with each of the FLT respective teams.
Highlight and log RAID and support preparing materials for the different forums: FLT, Finance Extended Leadership Team (FELT), Finance Townhalls, etc.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in finance, with demonstrated exposure to enterprise-wide transformation programs, strategic initiatives, or large-scale program management.
- Demonstrated ability to simultaneously track, prioritize, and successfully drive multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with strong detail orientation, organizational discipline, and process management skills.
- Background in management consulting, Corporate Strategy or other equivalent experience supporting enterprise-wide initiatives in a Fortune 500 Finance CoE or Office of the CFO.
Familiarity with Finance transformation frameworks such as Shared Services optimization, Zero-Based Budgeting, Finance digitization, or AI-enabled FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis).
Technical Skills Requirements
- Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information
- Proven change management experience, either formally certified or with demonstrated application in multi-stakeholder organizational change programs.
- Strong project management capabilities with preferred knowledge of project management frameworks i.e., Agile.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, able to distill complexity into crisp, decision-ready narratives for senior leadership audiences.
- Financial modeling, business case development, and KPI/value tracking experience.
- High tolerance for ambiguity; initiative-taking approach to creating clarity from complexity.
Structured, hypothesis-driven problem solver, comfortable at both strategic and operational levels.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $146,000.00 - $209,000.00. Our salary ranges are
determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range
for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional
factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation.
This position is also eligible for long-term incentives.
