Role Description
The Senior Manager, HR Portfolio Management reports to the Vice President, Colleague Experience, with a dotted line to the Sr. Manager, HR & Global Operations Planning. This role establishes and maintains the full portfolio and demand that spans the HR function while executing assigned projects to deliver measurable outcomes. Given the scope of the role, the leader partners closely with leaders across HR to maintain a holistic view of priorities, ensuring initiatives are aligned to business strategy, prioritized, appropriately funded, governed, and executed with high quality to realize value.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish & Maintain HR Portfolio
- Create and maintain a holistic view of priorities spanning the HR function, ensuring initiatives are aligned to business strategy, prioritized, appropriately funded, governed, and executed with high quality to realize value.
- Program Realization & Governance
- Lead execution of assigned HR programs / projects. Establish governance forums; track delivery against plans; proactively manage risks, issues, and decisions. Partner with Finance on cost transparency and benefits tracking to ensure value realization. Also, serve as Project Manager for assigned projects (e.g. Global Payroll Improvement Initiative).
- HR Process & Technology Road mapping
- In partnership with Global Process/Product Owners and HR Technology, architect integrated process and technology roadmaps that embed HR principles and standards, optimize sequencing, and avoid pinch points.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with business leaders. Partner across the function with the Senior Manager, HR & Global Operations Planning as well as with the CHRO, HRLT, and functional leaders; facilitate alignment between business priorities and HR execution; communicate progress and outcomes.
- Portfolio Analytics & Reporting
- Maintain portfolio-level KPIs, OKRs, and dashboards; provide insights on capacity, dependencies, and benefits; drive continuous improvement (efficiency and effectiveness) in portfolio management practices.
- Change Management & Adoption
- Coordinate change plans, communications, and training to ensure stakeholder readiness and sustained adoption of HR initiatives.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Regular interactions with the HR Leadership Team, Functional Teams, Finance, HR Technology, Global Process/Product Owners, and external partners as appropriate.
RESOURCES MANAGED
- Financial Accountability: Segments of the HR budget, inclusive of evolution initiatives.
- Portfolio Scope: Multi-program HR portfolio with cross-functional and global impact.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related discipline required; Master’s degree/MBA preferred.
- Project Management Certification(s) desirable.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership in enterprise transformation with demonstrated execution success.
- Experience in the HR domain.
- Track record leading cross-functional, global programs with measurable business impact.
- Strong financial and business acumen; ability to articulate the value of HR initiatives to executive stakeholders.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of modern HR technologies and practices (cloud HRIS, digital workplace, analytics).
- Experience with HR service management and delivery frameworks (Shared Services, Agile HR).
- Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance practices in regulated environments (life sciences/pharmaceuticals).
- Proficiency with portfolio management and program execution tools; KPI/OKR frameworks; dashboarding and reporting.
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Light travel as required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $146,000.00 - $209,000.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the base pay target range for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for short-term incentive compensation.
This position is also eligible for long-term incentives.
