The Role
Reporting to the Companion Animals Team Leader and based in Mulgrave, there is one full-time opportunity and two casual opportunities currently available. The Kennel Assistant is responsible for the care of impounded animals, including health checks, feeding, cleaning, exercising animals and maintenance of the shelter.
About You
You will be passionate about animal welfare and will have experience maintaining commercial animal impounding premises. You have a demonstrated ability to identify and report animal health concerns. You are experienced in the handling of animals and managing animal behaviour.
Essential Criteria

Cert II or above in animal related study or studying an animal related qualification

Experience maintaining commercial impounding premises

Animal handling experience
-
Sound knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications

Current class C driver licence
-
The right to live and work in Australia
-
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
-
The successful applicant will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
Desirable Criteria

Use of shelter management software such as Shelterbuddy
-
NSW companion animal microchipping accreditation
-
Ability to drive a manual vehicle
