Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the greenhouse sector. This role requires a proven track record of
greenfield growth-building new customer relationships and revenue streams from the ground up. The right candidate thrives in a performance-driven environment, consistently exceeds sales targets, and brings a growth mindset to every challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aggressively prospect, develop, and close new business in the greenhouse market.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through disciplined use of CRM tools.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales budgets, growth targets, and performance metrics.
- Develop tailored solutions to meet customer needs and win market share from competitors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, customer service, and marketing to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery success.
- Deliver regular reports on pipeline health, performance to budget, and market opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, customer meetings, and events to enhance visibility and brand reputation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field; or equivalent experience in the horticulture industry.
- Proven success in driving new business growth (not just account management).
- Demonstrated history of exceeding sales budgets and metrics.
- Experience with CRM systems and disciplined pipeline management.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with ability to build lasting customer relationships.
- Growth mindset with high levels of initiative, energy, and resilience.
- Knowledge of greenhouse operations, trends, and customer dynamics strongly preferred.
